Beethoven – Half Size
My last post was in relation the Cross Stitch pattern Beethoven – Full Size version. This post relates to the companion design Beethoven – Half Size Version.
In this ongoing ‘Great Composer’ series, each Composer in the series is/will be available in 2 sizes, what I think of as ‘Full Size’ and ‘Half Size’. Each of the full size designs finish at an average of 5″ x 7″ stitched area (on 14ct fabric). Each of the half size designs finish at an average of 2.5″ x 3.5 – 4″ (on 14ct fabric). All the composer patterns, whether full size or half size use only four colours, full cross stitches and a small amout of backstitch for the Composers name details.
Each of the full size patterns is available in four modern colourways in the one pattern:). Each of the half size designs is available in four monochromatic colourways in the one pattern! This gives you many options of stitching a series of designs e.g. You could choose your 3 favourite Composers and stitch each of them ‘full size’ or ‘half size’ in the same colourway. Alternatively, you could stitch the same Composer in the four different colourways, frame each finished piece individually and hang them in a variety of ways.
How Am I Stitching These Designs?
I am currently working on stitching the ‘half size’ designs in a grid format as an ‘afghan’. The chart shown at the right, shows the overall plan for the completed piece. Please be aware that the colourways in my W.I.P. (work in progress) afghan may vary to the colourways currently available. Essentially, I lost all my original files – not happy Jan 🙁 and had to re-do all the patterns.
Apologies for the ‘less than ideal’ image quality of the proposed layout. It is just a rough sketch for my use only. I have just added the composer name and the colourway to each square to have an overall plan of the finsihed piece. I’m sure you get the general idea 🙂
